The pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Dominican University Ibadan, Revd Prof Anthony Alaba Akinwale, has called on government both at federal and state level, to provide and protect an enabling environment for a private sector driven economy.
Akinwale stated this while delivering his keynote address at the Gala Dinner an award ceremony in celebration of the Loyola College 70th anniversary.
According to him , the private sector cannot thrive where there is a crisis of insecurity and energy crisis bedeviling the economy.
While speaking , he suggested important roles in which the private sector could play with regards to education which are, the establishment of schools, partnering with existing established schools by way of funding for training of instructors and funding for infrastructures, as well as collaborating with other schools to design a curriculum that will be useful to the sector.
” There three roles the private sector can play or should be allowed to play with regard to education, one, to establish schools, two, to partner with existing private schools by way of funding for training of instructors and funding for infrastructure, three, to partner with private schools to design a curriculum that will be useful to the private sector”.
