TRCN: Odeleye, Abimbola Send Strong Message To Newly Inducted Teachers

The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Lead City University Ibadan, Prof Abidemi Odeleye has charged the newly inducted teachers, to be individuals who would endeavour to lead with purpose wherever they find themselves.


Odeleye gave the admonition at the 7th Induction ceremony of the Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria[TRCN] which was held at the institution’s conference centre on Tuesday.
While speaking on the need to imbibe self development in the profession, Odeleye advised them to be resolute, embrace life long learning which would enable them in being exposed to different ideas , as well as evolving in the twenty first century.


” As you step into classrooms all over the world, we expect you to shine to the world, be curious, seek knowledge , and continue to evolve alongside your students, because you will always be the greatest learner. You should champion equity and inclusion, giving every child opportunity to learn, everyone that comes your way provide that platform for them, every child deserves an equal chance . Advocate for diversity, justice and social justice, be compassionate. Behind every student is a story”.


In his remarks, the Registrar and Chief Executive of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN, Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye represented by Dr Okunola Abimbola revealed that teachers have so much responsibilities, as students look up to them as change makers who must ensure that the teachers can be reckoned with.


On the issue of innovation , he called on the newly Inducted teachers to upgrade themselves through the usage of gadgets like laptops to mediate their teaching skills.


He further emphasized that teachers are the architect of the society who shape the minds of students, thereby calling on them to embrace technology to enhance their learning experience.


” My dear inductees, TRCN is changing the pendulum of learning, let me just tell you, some of you that are thinking of moving from Nigeria to anywhere in the whole world and you want to pick up a teaching job, please note that all you are going to do today will be a passage for greatness in your life”.
