As the country continues to grapple with the effects of insecurity , President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed that one of his administration top priority is to tackle security challenges nationwide.
The President made this known while presenting the 2025 Budget to the national assembly on Wednesday.
” To secure our nation, security is the foundation of all progress . We have significantly increased funding for the military, paramilitaries and police forces to secure the nation , protect our people and consolidate government control over every issue of our national territory”.
While speaking, the president further called on Nigerians not to leave in fear , there by assuring that there would be the restoration of peace, productivity , revival of businesses and continuous community development.
” Our People should not leave in fear, whether on their farmlands, highway or cities by restoring peace, productivity, reviving businesses and rebuilding our communities”.
Tinubu however informed the assembly that a sum of 825 .90billion naira would be allocated for education sector which includes the Universal Basic Education[UBEC] among others. He also revealed the sum of 420 billion naira which would be invested in the infrastructural development.
In the area of health a sum of 402billion naira was said to have been given as well as 282.5billion naira in order to develop quality care for the masses which according to him would improve the health care system.
The president promised that farmers will be more equipped with more funding and input to reduce the rate of food poverty in the country.
