In a bid to show prowess and creativity of the mind, members of the Lead City Voices , Lead City University Ibadan has launched the second edition of their magazine titled ; The Voice.
The event took place at the School’s Adeline hall , which had in attendance , distinguished personalities.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Prof Kabiru Adeyemo in his speech said that the event serves as a great milestone in the life of the University . Adeyemo appreciated the effort of the out-going President of the association and his team , for a job well done, describing such creativity as a pleasant one.
He also charged the alumni union of the institution to develop the spirit of giving back to the school which will enhance greater achievement in the future.
However, in his own speech , the Hon Commissioner For Education in Oyo State,Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdul-Raheem ably represented by his deputy Adebayo Jonathan, applauded the association for their energy in equipping themselves in bringing out knowledge that would serve as a form of inspiration to others.
” Let me emphasize that it is one thing to acquire knowledge but it takes so many efforts to transfer knowledge to develop yourself and the society in general”. ” Majority of Nigerian youths today have great potentials but are hindered to make the best use of it because of the poor availability of the necessary link and connection for them to flourish”.
Whle delivering his address, the out-going President of the association, Mr Victor Ogunola made it known that his administration has been able to empower students to become leaders of tomorrow which according to him are testament to the cognitive spirit of the University .
Other highlights of the programme were award presentation to distinguished members in the society as well as corporate organizations who partnered with Lead City Voices.
