The Sokoto Central market is currently on fire, with the motorcycle section of the market affected.
According to an eyewitness who spoke with newsmen, it was learnt that the unfortunate incident started early this morning in which the cause has not been ascertained.
However, another source revealed that the Sokoto Central market fire emanated from a dump site close to the motorcycle section.
Reacting to the development , the chairman Motorcycles Marketers Association, Shehu Muhammad, said they could not give a full detail of the number of motorcycles destroyed by fire outbreak which is still severe.
Mohammed further revealed that many people had lost their jobs due to the tragic incident.
“But many people lost their shops along with their motorcycles because they could not come in time as the fire started around 6am”.
“But men of the federal and state fire services are currently battling, but I know it will take some time before they can quench it all,” he said.
